Pogus Caesar’s powerful and evocative Belly of the Beast exhibition has been displayed in our new temporary exhibition space since March 2026. To commemorate the closing of this photographic retrospective on the 1985 Handsworth Riots we are hosting a one-off community consultation day focussing on some of the key aspects of the national Police Race Action Plan.

We are inviting community members from across the West Midlands to share their thoughts and experiences on the reasons for civil unrest; the implementation of stop and search policies and the role that the treatment of young people plays in their behaviours and trust in police into adulthood.
