February 2026
2026 is flying by – it’s hard to believe that February is already upon us! We have been really busy while the museum has been closed during January, accessioning lots of new items into our already large collection, setting up the Fashion Police exhibition that will be opening at Birmingham City University’s Parkside Building on 5th February and converting the old Lock-Up kitchen into a new display space where we can host special exhibitions from our collection or for other artists.
We are really lucky this year, because the February half-term school holiday falls at the same time as the Lunar New Year celebration, so we will be celebrating West Midlands Police’s new mounted unit and the beginning of the Year of the Horse with a special new trail and a craft corner where we will be making little hand held hobby horses. If that doesn’t excite your family’s interest, why not try one of our new family friendly walking tours and hear the stories of real criminals who have been arrested and spent the night at the lock up?
