July 2025
July signals the start of the school holidays – long summer days, family barbecues and huge music and sporting events. In the West Midlands, we celebrate the annual Birmingham and Sandwell Mela, the biggest festival of South Asian music in the UK and of course, host lots of live cricket matches at Edgbaston.
As always, there is a new focus at the museum for families during the summer. Our exhibition and trail are the culmination of a great deal of work carried out by the West Midlands Police Heritage Team and the staff and students of Birmingham City University, in the NLHF funded ‘Fashion Police’ project.
